Fish, Pet or Human consumption? If the ingredients is identical, and the grade is pharmaceutical, and the drug is safe for the specific consumer, used with the correct dosage either for; fish, pet, human, the drug should be safe. I would not want to give my pets less than pharmaceutical grade drugs, and mot pet antibiotics prescriptions can be filled at Giant grocery store, the same place I have my prescriptions filled.

Salt water fish and Koi can be a very expensive investment, therefore it would make sense that pharmaceutical grade antibiotics would be used to treat the fish. However, I would have to know as a fact, that the grade of drug is pharmaceutical, with no inert ingredients, or caustic to pets or humans.

so assuming there is no pharmacy available and it is this or die what’s to discuss…….. today with Walgreen around the corner almost everywhere not so much….. a little common sense will go a long way in any situation.

Purity for animals is usually greater than for humans; in other words, it’s better with a longer shelf life. From what I’ve read, equine is especially pure. To say you want to give your pet pharma grade means a lesser quality. They are seeking a way to plug this loophole.
